Are our zoos to cruel to wild animals? Discuss...

I think that the zoos are cruel to wild animals, because are forced to be all the time in jails, they can't run. In the zoos the manager who look afther the big animals become domestic.

In my opinion the best site for the animals is in a Safari tour, because in Safari tour the animals can live exactly than her natural habitat, the jungle.

And to finish, my conclusion is that animals would have to live in the place that they born with her family as nature says.

Most of the story takes place in Tredonald, Wales. Find information about this coal mining village.
With the Industrial Revolution ( 17th and 18th c ) , coal mining, a tiny industry in the 15th century, became a national and international industry. Thus, the 19th century was a century of massive expansion for the coal industry in Wales. But the end of the 20th century brought almost universe closure. Find information about 1984 miners' strike

The strike begins

In 1984, the announcement came that 20 pits were to close, with 20,000 jobs to go. It was later disclosed that the government, in preparation for the much-anticipated industrial action, had been stockpiling coal to take Britain through the winter.

Initial locally-organised strikes across the UK became a national NUM strike in March 1984. But NUM leader Arthur Scargill decreed that NUM regions could decide whether or not to strike on an independent basis.

As the strike continued, strains and stresses began to be felt. The workers earned no money and were ineligible for benefits as the strike was deemed illegal; they had to rely on scrimping, saving and handouts.

Personal relationships strained and sometimes broke as some decided to work through the strike.

On the picket lines, buses carrying miner workers were attacked, and other disturbances took place. Miners clashed with massed ranks of police repeatedly and fiercely all over the country.

The official end of the strike came on 3 March 1985, when a vote was passed to return to work even without a new agreement with management. The pits closed rapidly over the next few years, and in 1994 the industry was finally privatised.

This Saturday was going to be a night to remember." Why?

Because spent one day away from her village behave how two were lovers. They can kept by the hand and kiss without think if the people see him.

. Chapter 4: Death at the mine / Leaving Tredonald

After the first four chapters, how would you define the relationship between Huw and his brother?

I think that her relationship is very cold, her brother only thinks about the money and work all the time. Huw hates her work and when he finishes her work he pass a lot of time with Megan. But the most important problem of this family is that the father is alcocholic and doesn't work. This family is poor and this affects the relationship with the two brothers, they don't be "friends" but will hold each other, another very big problem is that her mother was died. Everything gone wrong when her brother was die in the coal mine.

Chapter 6: A surprise find

Megan finds the letters Huw had sent her 50 years before, in 1946 and 1947. Imagine Meg's father was still alive and that you are Meg. What would you tell him?

I think that first I talk with my father very quiet, after so what he did have do to me is very serious I think I would go away from the village who lived to forgot my father and return to speak with Huw even as friends.

In the first letter Meg asks Huw: " Do you think he wanted me to find them when it was to late?". What dou you think?

I think that Huw dreamed that this was happen, but he never imagined it happening so late. I think that Huw will be flyes up to wales to see who was their young love.

Chapter 7: Time to decide

Before leaving Tredonald, Huw told Megan : "in a year ...I'll come back here and we'll get married..." ( pag.23 ); but things turned out to be completely different. Why ?

Because he belived that Megan no longer loved him and had forgotten him, so he tired to do the same, forgot her.

Chapter 8: Telling Beth

Find some information about Cardiff ( 3 lines ) and post a picture

Have got the world's largest coal port, also there are a lot of medieval history, Complementing Cardiff Castle is a second castle north of the city, called Castell Coch (Welsh: "Red Castle").Cardiff has a chequered linguistic history with Welsh, English, Latin, Norse, and most of the population was Catholic or Jewish.

Chapter 10: Writing back

Meg is about to get married. In spite of that, she lets Huw visit her and her daughter. Why does she act that way? Do you think she does it for Beth or for herself?

Because Beth is her her daughter. I think that she act that way because in the deep of her heart she feel the same love to Huw that when she was sixteen. Exactly that Huw

Chapter 11 : A new star

What's Meg's present job?

The old coal mine now is a museum, and Megan was the guide.

Why does Huw tell her " you always were a fighter, weren't you?" ? ( pag.48 )

Do you think two people can still be in love after 50 years without seeing each other?

I think that you can't lose the love, you can forget with the pass of the time, because in this book the partner was forgot each other but 50 years after with a little part of time, they again to remember because when they was sixteen they was feel in love with each other. Especially If they break up because of another person and the partner doesn't know what to did.

Chapter 17 : Time to go

Imagie the conversation between Paul and Megan the moment she tells him that she is still in love with Huw. Write it down

I think that the most funny think is her face in the moment that Megan tell him that she loves Huw. I think that he said him because she could not have said it before, and appear questions: What can we do now? Are your sure? You don't love me? But I think that she did the right thing. She listen wich her heart says, no her head.

Did you like the book? Why ? What did you learn by reading it?

I love this book, the first time that I saw the two books I chose this because the title and the cover was more beatiful than the other, but I think that I chose the best choice. I did not take anything, none lesson because in the time of my life I read and saw a lot of love stories and this not be a very long and worked book is simple, but I pass a really good time reading this book. Is a very beatiful history and I think that I improved my englis
